Struttura is an innovative red blend, a winemaker’s dream – the ability to work with some of Washington State’s best vineyards and most celebrated grape varieties, and to have the freedom to construct a totally unique, iconoclastic red blend.  A triumph of mastery in the cellar, this vinous Jenga takes Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Merlot and carefully assembles a wine that relies on each variety to construct a matrix representing optimum expression of finished form. So it is with this hearty Washington red, where careful selection of the building blocks produces a finished wine that is the ultimate articulation of its components. 

WINE PROFILE

What the French call a “glou-glou” wine, Struttura is approachable and imminently drinkable, with a core of red fruit and spice flavors, with a fresh, lengthy finish. This  complex, juicy, fleshy wine features cherry, mint, red licorice and black pepper flavors and an open-knit, appealing texture. The finish is smooth and polished, with a savory tang.

 

FOOD COMBINATIONS

Roast beef, high-cacao dark chocolate, Gorgonzola walnut ravioli, pepperoni pizza, aged cow’s milk cheeses, roasted beet salad with hazelnuts.

VARIETAL COMPOSITION: 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Syrah, 9% Cabernet Franc, 2% Merlot

WINEMAKING PROCESS: Each of the four grape varieties sued in our Washington red blend have different requirements in the cellar, so we harvest and ferment them all separately, paying close attention to each one’s needs. After an extended aging period in a combination of stainless steel and oak, the blend is tasted by our expert oenological team, before being carefully assembled and bottled.
