RED BLEND - WASHINGTON
IN THE ZONE
Washington State is one of the most dramatic landscapes in the entire world of wine, with its steep, rocky mountain slopes perched above the mighty Columbia River. Red grapes dominate these plains and hillside vineyards, producing intensely concentrated, structured and full bodied wines, and red blends are very much a fixture of the viticultural landscape. In the Zone is a "wow" wine, deep and rich, yet still maintaining a sense of balance and finesse, a great example of what Washington State does best.
In the Zone is an alluring, juicy, spicy red wine with aromas of red and black fruit along with cigar box. The palate is boldly fruity, with black cherry, licorice and toasted spice flavors on a medium bodied frame. Medium bodied, ripe and juicy, this wine evolves with layers of complexity and sails through to a long, expressive, vivid finish.
Prime rib, pepper-crusted Ahi Tuna, lasagna, sautéed mushrooms, butternut squash with kale, hearty roasted butternut squash with dried cranberries.
PACIFIC TIME ZONE
Not your average domestic wine, In the Zone takes inspiration from the top estates in Bordeaux, where blending grapes to produce a wine of balance and complexity is commonplace. We applied the same philosophy to fruit from some of the best vineyards in the Columbia Valley, producing a wine that is both new and unique, but also true to the vinous expression we so love in Washington State.
Lithe, elegant and refined, In the Zone is a balanced wine that showcases purity of fruit within a framework of polished, gorgeous tannins – a timeless style sure to appeal to wine geeks and novices alike. Far from your average domestic wine, our Washington Red Blend is the embodiment of skill and artistry in the cellar, where this blend truly allows our winemaker to get In the Zone.
WINEMAKING PROCESS: Every vintage is different, and we’re proud to say we tailor both our winemaking approach and our vintage blend every year to ensure that In The Zone is a true reflection of both the vineyard and an innovative approach in the cellar. In The Zone was fermented and aged in a mix of stainless and American and French oak, and bottled after a gentle filtration.
